ViaSky at the People Tech Forum 2026: Learning from Mistakes to Build a True Learning Culture

ViaSky at the People Tech Forum 2026: Learning from Mistakes to Build a True Learning Culture

On October 1 and 2, 2026, the Golinelli Foundation in Bologna will host the People Tech Forum, an event dedicated to the technologies and solutions that are transforming training, human resources, and organizational development.

ViaSky will participate as a partner of the Learn & HR Labs, bringing to the forefront of the discussion a topic closely related to how we build skills: the value of mistakes in the learning process. Innovating learning, in fact, requires us to also focus on the conditions under which people learn, creating opportunities to experiment, receive feedback, review their decisions, and transform experience into usable knowledge.

People Tech Forum 2026: Technology, People, and New Learning Models

The People Tech Forum brings together HR directors, L&D managers, training managers, CIOs, CTOs, and EdTech and HRTech providers to discuss the transformations that are reshaping the world of work.

Artificial intelligence, learning experiences, people analytics, immersive learning, LMS and LXP platforms, skills, and digital adoption will be among the topics covered over the two-day event. The Forum will also feature the fifth edition of the Training Expo, which in 2026 will take the form of the Learn & HR Lab: focus groups and workshops designed to foster dialogue among those who lead training, people development, academies, and skills management in organizations on a daily basis.

ViaSky's Contribution: The Benefits of Mistakes in the Learning Process

On October 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Valentina Urli, Head of Digital Learning at ViaSky, will lead the workshop “The Benefits of Mistakes in the Learning Process,” which focuses on learning culture and, in particular, on knowledge sharing, a culture of feedback, and error management.

The focus of the session will be on designing safe spaces in which to test a decision, observe its consequences, understand its causes, and try again. This is particularly valuable when the training experience allows participants to practice scenarios that, in a real-world professional context, could have far more significant consequences.

Mistakes as a Learning Experience

Researchon Error Management Training has long shown that direct experience with errors, combined with a conscious reflection on them, can facilitate the transfer of skills to new situations.

Educational value stems from the opportunity to take action, observe the effects of one’s choices, receive specific feedback, and tackle the problem again with a new perspective. Today, simulations, serious games, and artificial intelligence-based systems expand the possibilities for designing these environments, creating adaptive scenarios and personalized feedback that allow users to practice decision-making and develop skills without transferring the risk to a real-world context.

From a safe space to a learning culture

For HR and L&D, it is essential to recognize which contexts require absolute rigor and which can be transformed into safe spaces for experimentation. The ability to analyze mistakes, share them, and derive useful insights from them fosters a learning culture based on feedback, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.

The ViaSky workshop will begin with two specific questions: In what areas of the company, today, can we not afford to make mistakes? And what does it take to turn a mistake into a valuable learning experience? Based on these questions, the group will work on designing its own safe space, linking the training experience to the real dynamics of the organization.

Why It's Important for ViaSky to Be at the People Tech Forum

Participating in the Learn & HR Labs brings this reflection into a space for dialogue with those who design training and organizational development on a daily basis. For ViaSky, this means exploring a vision of digital learning in which technology, methodology, and experience work together to create learning paths that leave a lasting impact and translate into professional practice. Learning—even through mistakes—thus opens up a practical perspective on training: creating environments where we can experiment today in order to approach tomorrow’s decisions with greater awareness.
